Miles Mikolas (6-10, 4.17 ERA) will take the ball for St. Louis in this one with fresh memories of the gem he threw last time out against the Pirates. On July 15, the 30-year-old right-hander threw a complete game, 8-hit shutout. He'll be backed by a lineup that features a couple of switch-hitters at the top in Tommy Edman and Dexter Fowler.

The Pirates will hand the ball Joe Musgrove (7-8, 4.08 ERA) on Thursday with an eye toward fixing his past woes against the Redbirds. Across two starts in 2019, the 26-year-old right-hander has surrendered 12 runs on 11 hits in 7.2 innings.
For his career, Musgrove is just 1-4 with an abysmal 7.09 in five career starts against St. Louis.
Those numbers do NOT bode well for Pittsburgh avoiding a four-game sweep at the hands of their divisional rival-- but that's why they play the games.
