Cari Champion Announces She's Leaving ESPN in Vague Tweet

Longtime ESPN personality Cari Champion has announced that she will no longer be working for the Worldwide Leader in Sports.
Champion's strangely-timed announcement came from her Twitter account on Thursday evening, noting that she had discussed this move with family, friends and mentors prior to making it official.
After consulting with mentors, family and friends, I have come to the decision that it’s time to leave ESPN. Over the past 7 years, I’ve grown from hosting First Take to having my own show on SportsCenter, and experiencing so much more in between.

Champion followed up her departure tweet with an appreciation post for the company that she has spent the last seven years with. One curious thing to note from Champion's follow-up is her enthusiasm regarding the "next chapter," suggesting that she may in fact already have another job lined up.
She'll no doubt be a highly sought-after commodity if she's not already employed elsewhere.
ESPN will always be apart of my legacy and I am proud to have been a part of theirs. I’m excited about the next chapter and will share soon! ❤️??

A tremendous role model for black women in the world of sports journalism, Champion's swift rise through the ranks from "First Take" host to SportsCenter anchor was certainly impressive. With her incredible resume at ESPN, Champion's next move will be worth monitoring.
