VIDEO: Mike Yastrzemski Delivers Incredible Moment With Homer in 1st Career Game at Fenway Park
By Kevin Aquino
Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski had an unforgettable 20th career home run, folks. It just so happened to come on the field where his grandfather, Carl, hit his fair share over a legendary 23-year MLB career that landed him in the Hall of Fame. Scenes! Incredible scenes.
Despite being in enemy territory, Young Yaz heard nothing but cheers from Red Sox fans at his first visit to Fenway as a professional. The whole family shared a heartwarming moment prior to the game when grandfather and grandson embraced at the spot where the latter would crack a home run hours later.
You can't make this stuff up.
Yaz, an 18-time All-Star, AL MVP, and Baseball Hall of Famer, has left ginormous shoes for his grandson to fill, but Mike looks more than ready to step out of his grandfather's shadow and carve out a solid career of his own. What an unforgettable moment.
