Carlos Correa Calls Out Cody Bellinger's Comments on Astros' World Series Win and Jose Altuve's MVP

Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa was one of the more vocal apologists in regards to the team's sign-stealing scandal when he spoke to the media on Thursday. But now, it seems that he's heard enough of the harsh criticism and just wants to get back to playing ball.

Los Angeles Dodgers star Cody Bellinger called out the Astros on Friday, claiming they didn't deserve their 2017 World Series win -- and that José Altuve "stole" the AL MVP from Aaron Judge that season on top of it all.

Correa's response? Scorched earth.

"For him to go out there and defame José Altuve’s name like that, it doesn’t sit right with me," Correa told Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic of Bellinger's comments. "The man plays the game clean. That’s easy to find out... So when [Bellinger] sits there and talks about Altuve, it’s not facts."

He then went on to claim that Houston earned their 2017 World Series title against the Dodgers, insisting that the Astros didn't intercept LA's signs. He said teams don't use "easy" signs to decode in the World Series because those games are "too important."

And then came more criticism of Bellinger.

This is probably the most in-depth, frank look at what happened from the perspective of an Astros player, but in the end we'll never know what to believe. Expect the bitter back-and-forths to continue as tensions run hot on this most sensitive of MLB subjects.
