Carlos Delgado Responds to Terrible Andy Martino Take Comparing Recording At-Bats to Sign Stealing
By Jerry Trotta

There has been no shortage of conspiracy theories to surface in the aftermath of MLB's probe into the Houston Astros' deplorable sign-stealing scandal.
While some are feasible, most are as outlandish as can be. Look no further than the garbage that Andy Martino, who covers the New York Mets and Yankees for SNY, came up with regarding former Queens slugger Carlos Delgado.
Referencing the Wall Street Journal's bombshell "Codebreaker" revelations, Martino actually theorized that Delgado used a similar approach with his notebook back in the day.
Astros’ “Codebreaker” stuff - this is almost exactly what Carlos Delgado once did with his notebook, just in Excel form. Delgado used a pen to record pitch sequences, signs and other info. Of course, he didn’t write “Dark Arts” on the cover like he was taking a class at Hogwarts

That's right, folks. Martino somehow drew the conclusion that merely taking down notes of pitching sequences and signs from his own at-bats is on par with the Astros' antics.
Either he doesn't think much of Houston's transgressions or thoroughly believes that Delgado is just as guilty and deserves to be punished accordingly. Both are impossibly woeful perspectives.
Because you can't get away with anything on Twitter these days, the former two-time All-Star eventually stumbled upon Martino's scorching take, and rightfully roasted him with a savage reply.
How in the world do you go from “keeping track” of personal at bats to “codebreaking”? ? Seriously, what one thing has to do with another? #reaching https://t.co/H9NzHLSuo5

We couldn't have said it better ourselves. Martino is definitely reaching with this take.
Martino deserved to be taken to the cleaners for attempting to oust a former Met as foolishly as he did, and Delgado wasted no time putting him in a body bag.
