VIDEO: Carlos Vela Opens LAFC Season With Filthy Goal Against Inter Miami
By Scott Rogust
The 2020 MLS season officially kicked off this weekend, but no one opened up their campaign better than Los Angeles FC winger Carlos Vela. Near the end of the first half against the newly formed Inter Miami CF squad on Sunday, Vela secured a lob pass with his head and used his footwork to move through the defense. After doing so, Vela kicked a floater over goaltender Luis Robles' head and into the back of the net to give LAFC an early 1-0 lead.
Seriously, words can't even do it justice. That score was a thing of beauty.
Is it too early to give Vela the MLS Goal of the Year Award? Because players are going to be hard-pressed to have a more impressive goal than Vela.
