VIDEO: Carson Wentz's IG Story Shows He's Getting Desperate for WR Help During Quarantine
By Michael Luciano
Even when his receivers are healthy, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz knows that a trio of Alshon Jeffery, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, and what's left of DeSean Jackson isn't going to help Philly get back to the Super Bowl. Wentz's Instagram activity during the coronavirus quarantine suggests that he's so desperate for wide receiver help that he's hyping up his new passing trainer as a viable pass-catching target. Someone get this man a guy who can separate at the line of scrimmage and win a 50/50 ball, please!
At least that passing trainer was able to secure the ball after Wentz threw it to him. The same couldn't be said of Nelson Agholor.
Obviously, we're extrapolating Wentz's desperation onto Philly's draft plans here, but it's clear his time away from anyone with working hands (excluding his pregnant wife) has made him yearn for the pass-catchers of old.
With the Eagles in possession of four picks during the draft's first two days, Philly is expected to load up on wide receivers in a historically deep class. Pick No. 21 could end up turning into a new No. 1 receiver for Wentz and Doug Pederson.
Help is on the way, Carson. Howie Roseman knows that his franchise QB can't be throwing to players just signed off the practice squad last season, and he'll likely stock up on perimeter help for Wentz in the draft.
