Another promising run ended early for Carson Wentz after a devastating helmet-to-helmet hit from Seattle Seahawks defender Jadeveon Clowney.

Wentz was promptly ruled out for the game after leaving in the first quarter and the Philadelphia Eagles were forced to battle with 40-year-old Josh McCown under center. While the veteran played admirably, it wasn't enough, and the Eagles fell to the Seahawks.

But Wentz is still in good spirits despite what happened and took to Instagram on Monday morning to thank his teammates and the fans.

So dang proud of this team and how we battled and overcame so much this season. Not the ending we envisioned but we will all grow and be stronger because of it! The fight and resiliency that this team displayed was so impressive. Love these guys! Also, appreciate the thoughts and prayers— Im feeling good today and will be just fine! Head injuries are a scary thing so I appreciate everybody’s thoughts and prayers. Hate not being out there to finish it out with my guys because of a play like that, but it’s the unfortunate part of this game. It’s all in Gods plan, not mine! Trusting in him ?? Philly, year 4 was one fun ride. Appreciate the love and support— especially the real ones who were with us through the highs and lows ?? Onward to next year... big things comin’, believe that! #flyeaglesfly

The dedicated Eagles fans are surely going to love seeing this. It's upsetting considering Wentz was finally healthy and fell victim to an illegal hit that the officials somehow missed. While it's far away, it's encouraging to picture what this team can do in 2020 with a healthy Wentz under center as well as countless other starters who fell victim to injuries.

Wentz was, of course, injured with an ACL tear in 2017 when the Eagles made their unlikely run to beat the Patriots in Super Bowl LII. The former No. 2 overall pick dragged this Eagles side to the Wild Card game this season even with a completely depleted roster on both sides of the ball.

The former North Dakota State QB had a stellar full season back from injury, finishing fifth in passing yards and touchdowns in the NFL, superseding Jimmy Garoppolo and Russell Wilson in the former category.

He showed a lot of heart and dedication this year, and his message to the team and the fanbase should instill confidence for everyone as the offseason approaches.
