Mize followed up his shaky first frame with three straight perfect innings, showing a glimpse of the impressive stuff that has him heralded as a future ace.
The Tigers' prospect is slowly working his way back to form. His first start saw him throw 32 pitches in 0.2 innings, and now Mize is ramping things up with his four innings of work.
Earlier today, RHP Casey Mize underwent an MRI, which was reviewed by Dr. Andrews and Dr. Lemos and both agreed that the films revealed some minor posterior shoulder inflammation. Casey is going to be placed on the injured list with right shoulder inflammation.

The Auburn right-hander was the top overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft and is climbing up the minor league ranks, currently on assignment with the Tigers High-A affiliate.
The Tigers expect big things from the high prospect, and with a long rebuild ahead of them, Detroit will play it safe with the 22 year old.
