LeBron James left the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time last summer for supposed greener pastures with the Los Angeles Lakers. Owner Dan Gilbert was peeved when "The King" left for the Miami Heat back in 2010, and he was frank about James' second tenure in Cleveland.

When speaking with Terry Pluto of the Plain Dealer, Gilbert explained what life is like with LeBron James in the organization, and it was rather telling.

"With LeBron, there was a limited shelf life in terms of his age and his contract commitment," said Gilbert,. "It’s a win now at all costs. . . It all revolves around the sun, which is him."

Gilbert would further elaborate by stressing that the team won the NBA Championship as a result of the pressure to compete.

In a stark contrast from James' first departure, the Cavaliers were better prepared the second time around. Once James failed to give Cleveland a verbal commitment, Gilbert and the Cavaliers began the process of "Life Without LeBron."

The roster is younger, and now, they have a new head coach to develop them in John Beilein, formerly of the Michigan Wolverines.

Just like with any organization, there is always pressure to compete for championships, especially with a once-in-a-generation talent in LeBron James. Dan Gilbert received an NBA Championship the second-go-around with "The King," but he did have a plan in place once James left for Los Angeles.
