Cavs Troll Warriors on 3-1 Day and All is Right in the World
By Scott Rogust
For the past five years, the Golden State Warriors were the dominant NBA dynasty. Now, they sit dead-last in the entire NBA standings, which is mostly credited to the injuries to Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, as well as Kevin Durant leaving for the Brooklyn Nets in free agency this past summer.
The Warriors-Cavaliers rivalry was one of the most intriguing in all of basketball for many years, but now both teams find themselves at the bottom of the league. Well, while neither of these teams have much to cheer for at the moment, the Cavs' official Twitter account took a jab at the Warriors on "3-1 Day" (March 1) in honor of Cleveland's remarkable comeback in the 2016 NBA Finals.
We respect the effort from the Cavs to troll the Warriors here, but they're hardly in position to laugh considering they're dead last in the East. Their current four-game advantage over the Warriors is nothing to boast about after a season that saw them fire head coach John Beilein less than one year into his multi-season contract.
Still, no one can take away LeBron James and Co's heroics from 2016, bringing Cleveland its first championship since 1964 when the Browns won the Super Bowl, in what was one of the greatest comebacks in sports history.
