New York Yankees starting pitcher CC Sabathia has been around the MLB for a long time, and he has no intentions of taking a sabbatical from the game after his retirement. He announced in February that the 2019 season will be his last on the mound, but apparently he has plans to remain with the Yankees in some other capacity.

According to Brendan Kuty of NJ.com, Sabathia said he wants a front office job with New York as soon as possible after this year.

It makes sense that CC wants to stay with the club and city that's shown so much love to him since he first signed with the team prior to the 2009 season. He's had his ups and downs with the Yanks; he immediately won a World Series and finished top five in Cy Young voting each of his first three seasons in New York, but Father Time soon robbed him of his electric stuff and he was forced to adapt his game.

Regardless, he'll go down as a fan favorite, and just might even be inducted into the Hall of Fame one day.

Given the love on both sides of the CC-Yankees relationship, we're sure the team can find a position for the big man in some capacity.
