CC Sabathia Secures 250th Career Win as Yankees Obliterate Rays in Series Sweep

One of the greatest left-handed pitchers ever to do it just reached yet another milestone.
The retirement tour of CC Sabathia continued in historic fashion on Wednesday, as he grabbed his 250th career win to help the Yankees polish off a three-game sweep of the Tampa Bay Rays in the Bronx.

All things considered, the job wasn't too hard. The Yankees put up a whopping 6 runs in the first inning, chasing ace Blake Snell after he retired just one hitter.
From there, it was all Sabathia. The veteran southpaw scattered 3 hits and 3 walks across six innings of 1-run baseball while striking out 7 batters.
It's only fitting that such a massive milestone came against Tampa Bay. The Rays and Sabathia have been bitter enemies dating back to last year when he was ejected from a game for hitting Jesus Sucre.

The achievement comes a little bit over a month after Sabathia recorded his 3,000th career strikeout against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Yankees needed vintage CC to build on their AL East lead, and he delivered. Now, he gets to celebrate yet another fantastic moment in his illustrious MLB career.
