Celtics and Mavericks Reportedly Now Leading Pack for Kemba Walker
By Parker White

It was reported that the Boston Celtics emerged as a "stealth suitor" to sign point guard Kemba Walker this summer, but Mark Stein of the New York Times has reported that you can take away the word "stealth."
According to Stein, the Celtics, as well as the Dallas Mavericks, are at the "front of the line" of teams who will try to sign the All-Star guard.
We can scratch "stealth." Boston and Dallas are at the front of the line that will be trying to lure Kemba Walker away from Charlotte, league sources say

Boston is set to move on from fellow point guard Kyrie Irving, and Dallas could certainly use another perimeter player to team up with Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic.
Two NBA sources confirm @TheSteinLine report that Celtics are seriously interested in @KembaWalker. I doubt the Hornets put this thing to bed pre-emptively when free-agency opens June 30. Plenty of suitors, and I assume Kemba will listen to all the pitches.

Having these two teams in the mix certainly complicates matters. Walker isn't opposed to returning to the Charlotte Hornets, but these are two potential playoff contenders he could make a huge difference for.
Yes, the Hornets can pay him the most money, but does he wanna win? It probably won't happen in Charlotte, so Boston and Dallas have a great chance of landing one of the best scorers in the league.
