CFL Cornerback Tre Roberson Set to Sign With Bears
By Jack Murphy

Canadian Football League star Tre Roberson will take his talents to the NFL for the 2020 season.
The 27-year old cornerback has agreed to a deal with the Chicago Bears. As per reports, as many as nine other NFL teams have made offers to the former Calgary Stampede DB, however it was the Bears who came out on top.
Calgary CB Tre Roberson, thought to be the top CFL free agent this year, will sign with the Chicago Bears, per a league source. Roberson chose the Bears over nine other offers. Bears are expected to give Roberson the largest CFL-to-NFL compensation since Miami signed Cameron Wake

Roberson's deal with Chicago is the largest for a player coming out of the CFL since when the Dolphins signed defensive lineman Cameron Wake.
Roberson seems to be very humbled and excited for another opportunity to play in the NFL, after his first chance fizzled out before the regular season.
So blessed to be @ChicagoBears thank you for the opportunity in allowing me to help this organization get to the goal of winning a super bowl. Thank you to my agent for fighting hard for me through this whole process @camRONweiss @DynamicSportGrp#beardown

Roberson attended college at Indiana where he spent three seasons before transferring to Illinois State. He played quarterback for both programs before switching to cornerback in order to increase his chances at landing in the NFL.
He then spent time on the Vikings practice squad after receiving a tryout for the team. After battling to maintain his spot on the practice squad Roberson ended up being waived on Sept 2, 2017.
After being cut from the Vikings, Roberson signed with the Calgary Stampede. He played his first CFL game on June 16, 2018 and quickly emerged as a star, recording 10 interceptions in just two seasons.
