Chargers Head Coach Anthony Lynn Says Melvin Gordon Might Play Against Dolphins
By Michael Luciano

We might see the return of Melvin Gordon to the Los Angeles Chargers backfield a week earlier than expected.
While most assumed that head coach Anthony Lynn was going to give Gordon a week to get back in shape and let Austin Ekeler run the show against the Miami Dolphins, Lynn has reversed course after the calf injury to Justin Jackson.
#Chargers coach Anthony Lynn says RB Melvin Gordon may play on Sunday after all, thanks in part to depth issues in the backfield (Justin Jackson has a calf strain that could keep him out a few weeks). More on LA’s decision: https://t.co/JJ4Jzquc9Z

While Gordon was holding out to either force Tom Telesco to give him a raise or trade him, this decision may not have been too wise for Gordon. He picked up six figures in fines, and saw his backup diminish his value, as Ekeler has rushed for 160 yards, picked up 208 receiving yards, and scored four times.
In other words Austin Ekeler is making me look bad and I can’t afford to miss anymore games

Still, the Chargers are 1-2, and Gordon has proven himself to be a cut above the rest of the backs in the NFL, so Lynn, Philip Rivers, and the Chargers are welcoming him back with open arms.
He'll get a chance to get his feet wet against a Miami team that isn't even making an attempt to show they are trying to win.
