Chargers RB Melvin Gordon Fuels Trade Rumors With Latest Instagram Activity
By Jerry Trotta
This particular piece of news could mean nothing. But when you consider the hectic and stunning storylines have formulated across the NFL in the last couple of days, it could also mean everything.
As we know, Los Angeles Chargers general manager Tom Telesco came out on Sunday to boldly state that he won't discuss a contract extension with disgruntled tailback Melvin Gordon.
The Chargers have already expressed their consent to search for a trade partner involving the two-time Pro-Bowler and Gordon's recent suspicious activity Instagram is hinting that the City of Brotherly Love (among others) could be a potential landing spot.
We've seen next to no rumors suggesting that the Philadelphia Eagles would be interested in trading for the former Wisconsin stud, whose staggering production over the years will likely demand a hefty return package for the Chargers.
We also can't ignore the potential significance of the star RB going out of his way to follow the franchise on social media. You almost can't help but buy into it and play the hypothetical game.
All told, the Eagles just don't strike us as an organization that would cough up viable assets for an oft-injured RB, especially after they drafted Miles Sanders out of Penn State in the second round of April's draft. However, the likes of the Falcons, 49ers and Raiders--some of Gordon's other recent follows--might make more sense.
