Chargers RB Melvin Gordon is Losing a Ton of Money During Holdout
By Ryan Flores

Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon's holdout has seemingly cost him quite a bit of money already in his efforts to get even more.
With Week 1 of the NFL season here, Gordon has officially given up a whopping $329,705 from the Chargers as he seeks a long-term extension that will make him among the highest-paid running backs in the league.

By rule, Gordon needs to show up at least 30 days prior to the end of the regular season to retain his free agency status next year, which would mean he could return sometime in late November. That would make Gordon eligible to receive just under $2 million this year in salary.
The Chargers have made it known to Gordon that they are shutting down all contract talks until the offseason, leaving his status with LA in limbo. While Gordon remains out, the team has granted his representation permission to seek a trade with another team.
However, it doesn't seem as though the Chargers are in a rush to make any deal unless they're getting exactly what they want, as they've already declined a weak offer from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Melvin Gordon's holdout could last until late November, when the Chargers running back would have to report to make sure his contract does not toll for this year and he can become an unrestricted free agent after this season, per sources.https://t.co/1A5SJxErf4

Let's just hope this doesn't turn into a Le'Veon Bell situation.
