Chargers Safety Derwin James' Foot Injury Details Are Incredibly Gross
By Michael Luciano

We've finally found the culprit behind Los Angeles Chargers superstar safety Derwin James' debilitating foot injury--it turns out that it was a result of a botched operation in college. Be warned, the details are extremely graphic.
James, who will miss a significant portion of the 2019 season following an operation, had a screw put in his foot from an injury he sustained during his freshman year at Florida State. The screw bent last week and the purpose of his operation was to remove the screw.
Chargers S Derwin James is scheduled to undergo foot surgery in North Carolina on Thursday, per source. A screw that James had inserted in his foot as a freshman at Florida State bent last week and doctors determined it’s best to remove it. James is expected back in 3-4 months.

Hope you didn't eat lunch before you read that.
This is not the news the Florida State medical staff was hoping to hear. Did Jimbo Fisher do this procedure himself?
However, a giant metal screw implanted in your foot can end up bent, and James' freak accident has left the Chargers without 100 tackles, three sacks and three interceptions worth of production in their secondary.

The small silver lining on this story for Chargers fans is that Philip Rivers and company should still be a playoff team, and James could return for a late-season playoff push.
