Chargers' Trade Demands for Melvin Gordon Revealed

The Los Angeles Chargers are moving forward without Melvin Gordon, and they've set a fairly hefty price for other teams to acquire the services of their Pro Bowl running back.
Gordon has yet to report to the Chargers and the team acknowledged the two sides are too far apart on a potential deal when they allowed him to seek a trade partner. But the Chargers are asking for a first- and fifth-round pick for Gordon, and it's unknown whether teams are willing to pay that price.

It's hard to ask for top dollar when you have no leverage, but the Chargers are trying their best at just that. It's unlikely that a team, who would have to pay Gordon a new contract, would spend that kind of draft capital on the running back.
This is likely a negotiating tactic to set the bar much higher in hopes of getting as much value as possible, because the Chargers have nothing going for them.
Some potentially big news for the #Chargers: They have given the reps for Melvin Gordon permission to seek a trade, sources say. He’ll explore his options, which include returning. But big few days.

LA should be in no rush to deal Gordon, especially since they can tag him at the end of the season. There's no telling how long this could continue, but it doesn't look like it'll end anytime soon.
