VIDEO: Charles Barkley Goes off on 76ers and Compares Them to Browns
Charles Barkley has never been known to shy away from controversy. On Thursday night, when discussing the Philadelphia 76ers, Barkley went off on his old team, calling them the "Cleveland Browns of the NBA".
What a harsh statement by the former NBA MVP. However, unlike a lot of his other hot takes, this analysis isn't terribly off.
Both teams made some notable signings over their respective offseasons, talk a lot of trash, and consistently underperform (thus far for the 76ers). While the 76ers at 31-20 are not by any means a bad team, they are sixth in the Eastern Conference and are absolutely awful on the road.
The Sixers are terrible on the road, but are also dominant at home. In order to help with this large disparity, they acquired two swingmen in Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson at the NBA trade deadline for more depth, something the team lacks.
While Barkley may have some solid points, the Sixers will look to turn it around with their revamped lineup in the second half of the season.
