Charles Woodson Calls Out NFL Over Bonkers Call on Derek Carr Run
By Andy Loughmiller
The Oakland Raiders fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday in their last ever home game in the Coliseum. One former Raider took to Twitter to express his displeasure with the fourth quarter delay of game penalty called against Derek Carr that may have cost them a win.
Charles Woodson questioned the penalty, and went as far as to say there is a bias against the Raiders from the top-down, and that they deserve an apology from the league.
Woodson knows how it feels to lose a game due to a questionable call made by the officials, as he was a member of Oakland's secondary during the infamous 'tuck rule' contest.
Carr assumed that the clock had wound down to the two-minute warning, and as a result was unable to get a play off before the play clock had expired.
Per NFL rules, players are supposed to be ruled down as soon as they begin their slide. And as you can see, the sixth-year quarterback clearly did so prior to going out of bounds.
Gruden and the Raiders had a perfect play call and executed it beautifully, but it was all for naught after being flagged.
Unfortunately, the referees cost the Silver and Black a chance to win one more game in front of their fans in Oakland.
