VIDEO: Charlie Brewer Exits Sugar Bowl With Concussion After Taking Big Hit From Georgia Defenders
By Karl Rasmussen
Charlie Brewer suffered a concussion during the Big 12 Championship against Oklahoma, and the Baylor QB went down once again on Wednesday night in the Sugar Bowl against Georgia. Brewer took a hard hit from a Georgia defender after scrambling for a big gain, and it looks as if he slammed his head hard while coming to the ground. The Bears took a knee in prayer while Brewer was attended to on the sideline, as he was eventually carted off the field.
Brewer was running towards a first down when he was tackled by the tandem of Nolan Smith and Travon Walker, and his head appeared to come down hard after the hit.
This is reportedly the third concussion Brewer has suffered in his college playing career, which is certainly not a good sign.
Brewer was notably allowed to remain in the game after taking the big hit against Oklahoma, but was removed shortly thereafter. He did not return to action in the Sugar Bowl, as he was replaced by Jacob Zeno.
