This MLB offseason has been one of the more eventful in recent memory as it will be remembered as the year of the notorious Houston Astros' cheating scandal. Many players have voiced their opinions on the integrity of the Astros organization and the situation as a whole. The most recent player to speak his mind is Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Charlie Morton.

The Tampa Bay ace has ties to the Houston organization as he was a member of the 2017 championship team, the squad which was guilty of cheating. Morton admitted he was aware of the dishonest activity and that he regrets not doing more to stop it.

Morton has shown the most remorse out of any former or current Astros player to date and is also only the second member of the 2017 team to apologize for it.

Morton has shown he understands the negative aspects of the cheating that transpired and how it impacts the perception of baseball for fans and players alike.

As suspicions rise about the possibility of the Astros cheating in 2019, Morton believes they were not. The Astros were responsible for eliminating the Rays in the 2019 ALDS.

The turmoil caused by this infamous scandal will not blow over in the foreseeable future. With the MLB season right around the corner, it will be intriguing to see if any other Astros players will finally express some remorse.
