If the Chicago Bears want to take the next step and be an NFC contender, they need quarterback Mitchell Trubisky to play a lot better than he did during the season opener at home against the Green Bay Packers.
The defense continues to do their job, but Trubisky threw for 228 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in their Week 1 loss. As a grown man, that would have me angered, right?
Well, I guess Trubisky didn't use that furious feeling in a constructive way, and instead moped around the practice field on Wednesday. According to Bears head coach Matt Nagy, that was not the case on Thursday, though things flipped in a different direction.
Matt Nagy says QB Mitch Trubisky isn't moping around like he appeared to be yesterday. Says he saw Trubisky "laughing and giggling" at practice yesterday, so all good.

Trubisky was "laughing and giggling"? Thanks for the lame update, Nagy.
What about Trubisky supposedly not being allowed to talk about their loss to Green Bay?
Matt Nagy: if Mitch Trubisky was told not to talk about last week, it wasn't from the coaching staff.

"It didn't come from me," Nagy said.
According to Nagy, that edict didn't come from him, and maybe someone else in the organization made that suggestion. Of course, as the quarterback of this team, which has expectations to win, Trubisky needs to be ready to answer the tough questions.
Holding this guys hand isn't going to make him the quarterback the Bears need, so let's take off the kid gloves.
