Cubs and White Sox Reportedly Interested in Free Agent Lefty Dallas Keuchel

It looks like a key free agency battle could be shaping up between the MLB's two Chicago teams.
According to the latest buzz from insider Bruce Levine, both the Cubs and White Sox have expressed interest in acquiring Dallas Keuchel in the offseason.
Keuchel had a rough go of things in free agency last year, and will likely be hoping to avoid the same this winter. He remained unsigned throughout part of the regular season in 2019, eventually latching on with the Braves on a one-year deal.
The 31-year-old had an up-and-down season in Atlanta, logging an 8-8 record with a 3.75 ERA and 91 strikeouts across 112.2 innings of work.
While he's a few seasons removed from the hurler he was back in 2015 when he won the Cy Young, Keuchel's production in Atlanta could line him up for a lucrative deal.
And it looks like that could be spurred on by a potential bidding war between the North and South Siders in the Windy City.
Notably, the White Sox were reported to have offered more money to Zack Wheeler than the Phillies, but the former Met ultimately opted to stay in the NL East for personal reasons.
Well, that hasn't derailed the White Sox's goal of landing a top-tier starter in free agency, and it looks as if the club has already shifted its focus onto Keuchel.
Now, the biggest obstacle they face will be from their own intra-city rivals, as both teams are keen on improving their starting rotations ahead of the 2020 campaign.
