Chiefs Could Re-Visit Contract Extension Talks With Tyreek Hill in 'Not Too Distant Future'

Tyreek Hill sat down with the NFL this week for a long meeting regarding the investigation into his alleged child abuse case, and it was apparently positive enough to allow the star wide receiver to participate in Chiefs training camp when the time comes.

That apparently opened another door for Kansas City, as the team could reportedly look into extending the speedster this offseason.

Not exactly the news you want coming out in the midst of a sensitive investigation, but what did we expect? The Chiefs are certainly waiting for the green light from the NFL so they can get Patrick Mahomes' top target under contract for the foreseeable future.

It's a sad reality, but this is life in the NFL. The Chiefs aren't going to let a rare talent like Hill slip away, especially if he's legally cleared in this whole ordeal-- no matter how bad the optics or his overall track record truly are.

The only way such situations will go away is if NFL teams band together, take a stand, and agree not to pay big money for guys who are in constant off-the-field trouble.

All told, as a Chiefs fan, this report would have to be bittersweet.
