Some big news arrived out of Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday morning, with the Kansas City Chiefs announcing that they've released former No. 1 overall pick Eric Fisher. In addition to cutting ties with Fisher, right tackle Mitchell Schwartz was also let go.

Fisher has spent the last eight seasons with the Chiefs, but will now have to look for a new home. In an emotional Instagram post, you can tell just how hard this is for the massive lineman.

"All good things must come to an end," he wrote. "Thank you Kansas City."

Fisher's 2020 campaign ended in heartbreak, as he suffered a torn Achilles in the AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills. Because of that, he was of course unable to play in the Super Bowl and watched his teammates suffer a rough loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers without him.

Now, Fisher will look to keep rehabbing from his injury and contact teams he'll want to suit up for in 2021. It goes without saying, but Kansas City fans will be rooting for him regardless of where he ends up.
