Just as the Kansas City Chiefs got on a roll defensively, they might have to take a step back.

Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark is suffering from well-documented stomach issues, and they're concerning enough that he's seeing a specialist to determine the root cause.

Clark will see a specialist about the problem, which became part of the narrative after his flu-ridden performance in Sunday's victory over the New England Patriots.

Clark played less than half the Chiefs' defensive snaps on Sunday, though he still recorded four tackles and one sack in the 23-16 win.

Clark has experienced flu and stomach issues before. He recorded an interception and a forced fumble while playing for the Seattle Seahawks against the Los Angeles Rams in 2018, despite losing 12 pounds and visiting the hospital twice that week.

Just to add to Clark's toughness, he also says he wants to play the 10-3 Patriots again in the playoffs.

Though Clark's diagnosis is still unknown, there is some good news for the Chiefs on multiple fronts.

For one, they clinched the AFC West on Sunday, so they have a little less pressure this weekend against the Denver Broncos. Secondly, if Clark can play through unhealthy weight loss and the flu to contribute in a road win over the Patriots, then he can probably perform under any circumstances.
