Chiefs Defense Has Come to Life at Perfect Time During Stretch Run

The Kansas City Chiefs continued their head-turning campaign on Sunday night, silencing the fans at Gillette Stadium.
Yup, KC defeated the Patriots in Foxboro on Sunday, but it wasn't how we expected them to do it. Although Kansas City's offense was effective, it was actually their great defense that carried them to the victory.
The Chiefs just marched into Foxboro and won on the back of their defense. That's a real thing that happened.

Allowing just 16 points the whole game, the Chiefs defensive pressure held the Patriots to only 184 passing yards and had Tom Brady under pressure the whole game.
On the final New England offensive play, that stout pressure forced Tom Brady to throw a contested pass to Julian Edelman. Incomplete. Game over.

That marks Brady’s 4th straight game with a QBR under 40, his longest streak since QBR first became available in 2006. pic.twitter.com/ePzb47oDvs
But, this defensive outing wasn't just a fluke. Over the last three games, the Chiefs defense hasn't allowed more than 17 points to any team.

The biggest concern surrounding Kansas City for the past two seasons has been their ability to stop opposing teams. Andy Reid's high-powered offense often covered up for their defensive flaws. However, if the improvements on this side of the ball are legitimate, Kansas City becomes just as good as any other team in the NFL. The rest of the league has been put on alert.
