Chiefs Fans Are Going to Love Mel Kiper's Latest Projected First-Round Pick Projection
By Brady Williams

The Kansas City Chiefs are on the precipice of a dynasty. They have the best quarterback in the NFL, a solid defense, and a formula conducive to winning. The only thing they're lacking, one could argue, is a consistent run game. According to Mel Kiper's latest mock draft, they'll address that issue next week in the draft, and Kansas City fans should be very excited.
Kiper believes the Chiefs will select Georgia running back D'Andre Swift with the final pick in the first round. Swift is considered by many to be the best running back in a draft full of outstanding rushers. He's a dynamic back with some crazy speed.

Swift will generate instant offense anywhere he goes. He rushed for 1,218 yards and seven touchdowns in 2019, and his speed even makes him a threat in the passing game.
Adding a dynamic running back to an already phenomenal passing attack would make the Kansas City Chiefs nearly impossible to defend. Swift's a one-cut back with the downfield speed to gash any defense, and that kind of explosiveness is highly conducive to the kind of offense Andy Reid has built.
Not only that, but Swift potentially landing in KC will help them deal with the loss of Damien Williams, who could leave in free agency after 2020.

The Chiefs are ready to return 20 out of their 22 starters from last season. If one of their additions is a running back as skilled as Swift, their fast track to the Super Bowl could be even easier.
