Chiefs Historic Dominance of AFC West in Last 5 Years is Unparalleled

The Kansas City Chiefs have been laying waste to the AFC West over the last five years at a rate that not even Tom Brady and Bill Belichick can replicate in their own poor division.

Over the last five seasons, the Chiefs have lost just three games against teams in their division, good for a 90 percent win rate. That's even better than the New England Patriots against the rotten AFC East.

When you have an MVP like Patrick Mahomes and, to a lesser extent, Alex Smith as your quarterbacks and Andy Reid as your coach, wins can be easy to come by.

When paired with the fact that six games a year come against a Broncos team that couldn't find a quarterback for almost six years, the cursed Chargers, and the moribund Raiders, wins are even easier to pile up for Kansas City, which went 12-4 overall this year and a perfect 6-0 in the division.

As is usually the question with Reid, regular season numbers and stats are all well and good, but can this be the year he finally gets it done in the playoffs? With a first-round bye, Chiefs fans certainly hope so.
