This Chiefs-Jets Jamal Adams Trade Would Break the NFL and Give KC Another Super Bowl Title

The New York Jets haven't had a ton of All-Pro players over the last few years, but they managed to develop safety Jamal Adams into one of the best defensive players at any position in the game.

Unfortunately, the Jets might be on the verge of trading Adams after they hit another snag in contract negotiations. If he truly is available, the Kansas City Chiefs need to pounce, as he could be the final piece that defense needs to go from good to unstoppable.

Adams could be had if the Chiefs are willing to part with a first- and third-round picks in addition to a player -- perhaps a guy like Juan Thornhill can make this a deal for a first- and fourth-rounder instead.

Adams has recorded at least 75 tackles in each of his first three seasons, and his 6.5 sacks show that this is an incredibly unique chess piece who can play basically anywhere on the defense. Him and Tyrann Mathieu could essentially take turns lining up in the box or as a deep safety over the top.

The one flaw on a tremendous 2019 Kansas City team was the fact their secondary was very poor, and the loss of Kendall Fuller will only make that group worse. Adding Adams for one season before his free agency would almost guarantee the Chiefs a Super Bowl in 2020.

And imagine if GM Brett Veach could find a way to give Adams a long-term deal -- don't look now, but Mathieu could be a cap casualty in 2021...
