Chiefs Are Just One Trade Away From Winning the NFL Offseason

The Kansas City Chiefs have done an excellent job keeping the majority of their Super Bowl-winning roster intact this offseason, and even adding to their collection of talent in the NFL Draft.

Yet, Andy Reid and Co. should demand more, and scare the crap out of the rest of the NFL in the process.

KC could still use some help in their secondary. After the Colts declined his fifth-year option, Malik Hooker could be available trade, and the former first-round pick still has plenty of potential.

Hooker's injury history is cause for concern, so we get where the Colts were coming from. Why commit that kind of money to a player who can't stay on the field?

However, when Hooker has received consistent playing time, he's performed quite admirably, and seems to have a nose for the ball.

The Chiefs didn't address their secondary until the fourth round of the Draft, selecting L’Jarius Sneed and then following that up with BoPete Keyes in the seventh. Those players could prove capable, but acquiring Hooker, who should start right away, would be a significant upgrade for 2020.

A Colts roster with Hooker on it would be hands-down the most talented in football.
