Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman Shows up to Super Bowl LIV With Awesome Top Gun Costume
By Michael Luciano
The Kansas City Chiefs feel the need. The need for speed.
The Chiefs pride themselves on having the fastest wide receiver corps in the NFL, and the players themselves are relishing in that distinction. Kansas City rookie Mecole Hardman, who was named an All-Pro as a kick returner, is taking the Chiefs' reputation for lining up track stars at wide receiver to heart, as he came to Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers dressed like a jet pilot, clearly referencing the classic movie "Top Gun."
So if Hardman is Goose, than Tyreek Hill is Maverick and Sammy Watkins is Iceman?
Hardman, who looks just as much at home running the 100 meters as he does a skinny post, has 539 yards and six touchdowns to his name. 49ers DC Robert Saleh needs to worry about Patrick Mahomes going over the top to Hardman or Hill should they get behind San Francisco's Cover 3.
Hardman, who is no stranger to bold fashion choices, needs to play nothing short of exceptional after showing up to the stadium in an outfit like that. However, if his recent form is anything to go by, he should have no trouble breaking off for one or two big plays in this game.
