Chiefs Need to Go All Out and Acquire Jalen Ramsey After He Reportedly Requested Trade From Jaguars
By Thomas Carannante
The time is now for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Patrick Mahomes and Co. were one miraculous Tom Brady game-winning drive away from reaching the Super Bowl last year, as one their secondary (and overall defense) -- a clear weakness -- was unable to stop the New England Patriots.
That could be the same story in this year's AFC playoffs, unless the Chiefs drop everything and trade for Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
Kansas City needs to get out ahead on this for two reasons: they desperately need the secondary help and they can't have Bill Belichick add another weapon to the Patriots roster, because you know he'll figure out a way to swindle the Jags into turning over the All-Pro corner for a sixth-round pick.
It's not like the Chiefs aren't aggressive on this front, either. They traded for Seahawks star Frank Clark after moving Dee Ford to the 49ers and signed Tyrann Mathieu this past offseason. While Kendall Fuller and Bashaud Breeland aren't a bad tandem helping out the Honey Badger in the secondary, Ramsey would put this group over the top and make them even more of a ball-hawking defense.
A first-round pick for one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL? The Chiefs can only screw this up.
