Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy Finally Getting Coaching Recognition He Deserves With 3 Interviews Scheduled
By Mark Powell

Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy ought to have received a head coaching opportunity by now. Yet, with a distinct lack of interviews under his belt, Bieniemy has long remained one of the most under-appreciated assistants in all of the NFL.
Finally, Bieniemy is receiving his due this offseason while his Chiefs are on a first-round bye. Per Ian Rapoport, one of the men behind Patrick Mahomes' high-flying offense is set to interview with three teams shortly, including the Browns, Panthers and Giants.
#Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy is scheduled to interview with the #Panthers for their head-coaching job on Thursday and he’ll meet with the #Giants on Saturday, source said. He also has a request from the #Browns. A busy man during the bye week.

The NFL has a concerning shortage of African-American head coaches at the moment, and one can only hope teams aren't interviewing Bieniemy to satisfy the league's Rooney Rule. Bieniemy deserves a legitimate shot, and seems likely to get one since he's put in the time and improved various aspects of KC's offense year-over-year.
#Giants have requested HC interviews with the following so far:

- KC OC Eric Bieniemy
- NE OC Josh McDaniels
- NE ST Coor. Joe Judge
- DAL Passing game Coor. Kris Richard
- Mike McCarthy
- BU HC Matt Rhule
- BAL DC Wink Martindale

All three are exciting opportunities, especially considering Bieniemy's offensive mind. With young quarterbacks in tow in New York and Cleveland, and Cam Newton potentially remaining in Carolina should they choose, there's no telling what Bieniemy could do with the freedom to mold an offense of his choosing.
