Patrick Mahomes Imagines Getting Absolutely Dominated by Pedro Martinez After Watching His '99 All-Star Performance
By Adam Weinrib

Before he was a Super Bowl champion QB and master of the no-look pass, Patrick Mahomes was a multi-sport athlete with a baseball dad who had ambitions of making it on the diamond, too.
But one look at a Pedro Martinez changeup, and those ambitions would've turned to dust a long time ago.
Mahomes watched Pedro's brightest moment on Tuesday night, reminiscing on when the right-hander carved up the NL All-Stars (Big Mac, Sammy Sosa, Barry Larkin, the whole crew) at Fenway Park in 1999. And if it had been Patty in the box back then, he'd like you to know he would've been Jet Chip LOST.
If he threw me that changeup every single pitch he could strike me out 100 times in a row https://t.co/oIPD4vJNj3

Imagine thinking for even one second that a fastball's coming, and instead getting the down elevator? Yeah, there's no hitting those beebees.
Luckily for Mahomes, though, he doesn't have to hit a change. He's the one initiating the action, in his chosen profession.

It's much better that way.
