Good work and good results rarely go unrewarded in the NFL, and the case is no different for Mike Kafka.

After helping spearhead a thoroughly dominant Kansas City Chiefs offense to the franchise's first Super Bowl win since 1969, the quarterbacks coach received a well-deserved promotion.

In addition to handling his old duties as quarterbacks coach, Kafka will now also serve as the team's passing game coordinator in the 2020 season.

In 2019, with Kafka's assistance and head coach Andy Reid's offensive genius, the Chiefs pieced together one of the most potent aerial attacks in the NFL. Their passing unit ranked in the top-five in the league in yards (4,498), touchdowns (30), and net yards gained per pass attempt (7.5).

It's thanks to his work and Reid's guidance that the Chiefs were able to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy once again.

With superstar gunslinger Patrick Mahomes under center for the foreseeable future and Kafka now taking on an increased role in the team's offensive attack, it seems like the passing game is poised to stay sharp in the upcoming season and beyond.
