Chiefs QB Depth Chart After Jordan Ta'amu Signing
By Mark Powell

The Chiefs QB1 isn't in question, and won't be for the majority of the next decade if Patrick Mahomes continues on his current trajectory. Nonetheless, the rest of the depth chart is actually up for debate among fans.
While we'd never wish injury upon Mahomes, he could be prone to such an unfortunate event, as the former MVP always has a target on his back in the open field. With Matt Moore on the free agent market, the Chiefs backup QB spot is up for grabs.
New signee and former XFL star Jordan Ta'amu could have something to say about that.

Ta'amu earned another opportunity in the NFL the hard way, and now he could wind up backing up the best quarterback in the league after lighting up the XFL. He's a tremendous story, but for now will have to compete with Chad Henne for that right.
Outside of Henne, there is no real competition for Ta'amu, but that could all change come the NFL Draft.
Pulled two minutes of film on new #Chiefs quarterback Jordan Ta’amu. Dual-threat QB from XFL. Finished third in passing, seventh in rushing. Classic QB style that Reid likes and much closer to Patrick Mahomes’ manner than Chad Henne. You see that here. pic.twitter.com/bhBOWzroMt

The Chiefs are likely to either bring back Moore or add another talent to their QB room before training camp rolls around. But for now, the battle for backup is between Henne and Ta'amu.
