Chiefs QB Pat Mahomes Gives Heisman Shoutout to Wisconsin's Jonathan Taylor After Huge 1st Half

The Wisconsin Badgers pounced on USF early in their season opener, running the score up to 28-0 by the halftime break. It was one player, however, who stood out far beyond the rest, as Heisman-hopeful running back Jonathan Taylor was a unstoppable force for the Badgers.

After scoring on the opening drive of the second half, Taylor had reached the end zone four times with 13:00 left to play in the third quarter. He'd picked up more than 200 yards from scrimmage, logged the first two receiving touchdowns of his career, and scored on 36, 37 and 38-yard touchdowns.

Anyone tuning into the game got a taste of why Taylor thinks he can take home the Heisman this year, and an NFL superstar gave him a very big vote of confidence.

Reigning NFL MVP Pat Mahomes shouted out the Badgers' star on Twitter, giving him an early nod for the 2019 Heisman.

Taylor is certainly worthy of being in the conversation, and his Week 1 performance is reminding everyone the dominant player he is, while also displaying a whole new facet of his game; receiving.

Mahomes has noticed the improvements he's made, and his shoutout should motivate the Badgers' star to continue to push.

In his first two seasons at Wisconsin, Taylor has racked up 29 rushing touchdowns and more than 4,000 yards from scrimmage.

He's quickly adding to those numbers in 2019, and could find himself as the first running back to win the coveted Heisman since Derrick Henry in 2015.
