Chiefs RB Darrel Williams Has Heartbreaking Reaction to Hitting IR
By Chris Russo

Kansas City Chiefs running back Darrel Williams simply wants to play, but he won't have that opportunity for some time after his season ended on Thursday.
Williams offered a sad and heartfelt reaction to going on injured reserve via Twitter.

A hamstring injury suffered in last week's game against the Oakland Raiders will keep Williams out for the year, which clearly has him upset as the Chiefs are poised to make a playoff run.

Williams played in all 12 games this season as part of what was essentially a three-pronged rushing attack for Kansas City. Williams, LeSean McCoy and Damien Williams have combined for over 1,000 yards on the ground. For comparison, Williams only played six games and had 81 total yards in his rookie season in 2018.
Williams also averaged over 5.5 yards per touch on the year. His best stretch of the year came in Weeks 3 and 4, over which time he combined for 165 yards and two touchdowns in narrow victories over the Baltimore Ravens and the Detroit Lions.
Though Williams is done for the year, the Chiefs can still take pride in the steps he took this year, as well as their AFC West-leading 8-4 record.
