Chiefs RB Depth Chart if They Followed Dez Bryant's Advice and Signed Todd Gurley

Dez Bryant set Chiefs Twitter ablaze when he insisted that the Super Bowl champions could sign former All-Pro RB Todd Gurley.

While there are no inclinations that such a move could happen, let's have some fun with Bryant's request. If the Chiefs were to pull the trigger on Gurley, their depth chart at the position would be absolutely loaded, giving Patrick Mahomes yet another weapon to work with.

Damien Williams and Gurley would likely share the duties of RB1. Neither is at their best when they're receiving too many carries, and both are capable in the passing game. Depending on the hot hand, either Williams or Gurley would see the majority of action, and that's exactly how the Chiefs like it.

Behind those two sits Darwin Thompson, but KC will probably draft a running back, and in this scenario that would be in Day 3.

The Chiefs don't want to be responsible for this kind of salary cap gymnastics, but if Gurley's price tag came down to the point they could afford him...crazier things have happened.

At the same time, it remains highly unlikely. You can blame Bryant for this article.
