Chiefs Reportedly Trading CB Mark Fields to the Vikings
By Jerry Trotta

The Kansas City Chiefs have opted to trim down their 53-man roster the old-fashioned way.
Per NFL insider Tom Pelissero, KC is trading undrafted rookie cornerback Mark Fields to the Minnesota Vikings, who are desperate for CB depth. The move comes as a genuine shock as the Chiefs aren't currently boasting world-beaters at the position either.

It hasn't yet been reported as to what KC will receive in return from Minny, but we presume that it won't be anything more than a late-round draft pick or a player swap of some sort.
Compensation is unclear yet on new Vikings CB Mark Fields, who the Vikings acquired in a trade this morning from the Chiefs per source. Fields, a UDFA, was considering signing w/ Minnesota after the draft and had a good preseason.Outside/slot depth the move here for the Vikings

Fields joined the Chiefs as an UDFA following April's draft and many scouts were stunned that the former Clemson Tiger wasn't selected. He showed out for Dabo Swinney all season, including the National Title game against Alabama where he defended two passes.
However, the young DB had a complete meltdown during last week's preseason tilt against the Packers. He drew a profusion of flags, all on plays where he was perfectly positioned to make one.
Perhaps a fresh start with the Vikings is just what he needs.
