Following the injury to Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs' defense will be under more pressure to keep opponents off the board. Well, the team decided to make a roster move in order to bring in a new face at defensive tackle.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, the Chiefs have signed defensive tackle Mike Pennel and released Terrell McClain in a corresponding move.

Pennel, 28, was an undrafted free agent back in 2014 out of Colorado State-Pueblo. He signed with the Green Bay Packers and was later claimed off waivers by the New York Jets in 2016. He ended up signing a three-year deal with the Jets, but after one year he was let go after the Jets didn't pick up his team option.

Pennel signed with the New England Patriots but was let go in August.

McClain, 31, is a former third-round pick and has played for a host of teams, including the Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins and Atlanta Falcons.

McClain recently latched on with the Chiefs, appearing in just two games and recording a total of three tackles.
