Chiefs Sign Former Jets Tight End Neal Sterling
By James.r

The Kansas City Chiefs added some much-needed depth to their tight end group on Thursday by signing tight end Neal Sterling. This move could turn out to be an important one if anything were to happen to star tight end Travis Kelce.
Sterling formerly played for the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets, as well as spending a short stint on the Chiefs practice squad in 2017.

Sterling showed promise as a pass-catcher for the Jets last preseason, but two concussions ultimately cut his regular season short. He finished the year with 6 catches for 47 yards in just five games of action, and he was released by New York on Tuesday to make room for running back Bilal Powell.
For his career, Sterling has 34 catches for 239 yards. Despite his uninspiring résumé, he could still be a solid addition for the Chiefs, whose tight end depth is virtually non-existent behind Kelce. Sterling is not an all-world talent, but he's shown signs in the past of having more ability than his stats would indicate.

If Sterling can stay on the field and improve his somewhat inconsistent hands, he will have a decent chance to make the final 53-man roster in KC.
