If the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs were lacking anything heading into next season, it was certainly not speed.

So what did they do? They got more speed, of course, this time on the defensive side of ball. The Chiefs signed Javaris Davis, the former Auburn defensive back, after he went undrafted in the NFL Draft.

Davis was an important part of the Tigers' defense, recording 150 tackles and eight interceptions over his four-year career.

Despite going undrafted after running a 4.39 40-yard dash, the Chiefs clearly took note of his speed and experience, scooping him up in free agency.

Davis, the cousin of former NFL players Vernon and Vontae Davis, now gets a chance to pursue his own NFL career. He will join the already-speedy squad in Kansas City, led by Tyreek Hill and the speed demon Mecole Hardman on the offensive side of the ball, and Tyrann Mathieu on the defensive side. We'll now wait to see if Davis can make the final 53-man roster for the defending champs.
