By Mark Powell

Every NFL Draft pick in the modern era is scrutinized, but thanks to social media, we can now re-live some of these terrible takes and throw them back in the faces of the pundits who irresponsibly spouted off in the first place. And today, it's the Kansas City Chiefs' turn.

In the 2017 NFL Draft, the Chiefs moved up 17 spots to No. 10 to draft Patrick Mahomes. Such a trade cost them their original No. 27 selection as well their 2017 third-round pick and 2018 first-rounder. It was a steep price to pay, but worthwhile for KC.
Three years later, Mahomes already owns league MVP and Super Bowl MVP awards.
Fans and pundits alike were shocked by the Chiefs' decision to take Mahomes, as Deshaun Watson was still on the board and Kansas City arguably had more pressing needs on the defensive line.

Mahomes' raw talent was obvious that April, but his ability to adjust to the pro game was not. The knock on the former Texas Tech signal-caller was his tendency to freelance rather than show the necessary footwork and pocket smarts to become a long-term QB at the highest level.
Today, Mahomes has already made those so-called weaknesses his strengths, shutting up every doubter along the way.
Now, the Chiefs get to flaunt it.
