It seems as though Morris Claiborne will get a shot at playing this year after all.

The suspended free agent cornerback and former member of the Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.

He's expected to fly out to Kansas City Thursday night and take a physical on Friday, per Terez A. Paylor. He was suspended for four games by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy earlier in the week.

The deal is reportedly worth up to $1.5 million.

Claiborne has been a solid player over the past few years. He's managed at least one interception in five of his seven years in the NFL, including three during his two-year stint with the Jets. He also registered 100 tackles during his 30 games with New York.

When he returns from his suspension, he'll no doubt add a fierce presence to Kansas City's revamped defensive core.

After finishing the 2018 season having allowed the second-most passing yards in all of football, it seems as though the Chiefs will be in much better shape defending against opposing quarterbacks in 2019.
