Before the Kansas City Chiefs selected former LSU star Clyde Edwards-Helaire with the No. 32 overall pick on Thursday night, it appeared that a running back wasn't going to be picked in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Based on the consensus buzz, that was pretty surprising. With players like Jonathan Taylor, JK Dobbins, and D'Andre Swift still out there, the second round should make for another intriguing night of draft festivities.

Well, after being snubbed, the latter actually received a vote of confidence on Twitter from Chiefs wide receiver and former Georgia teammate Mecole Hardman.

This is exactly the type of content we want to see. Hardman may have watched his former Bulldogs teammate get passed on in Round 1, but something tell us that Swift won't be on the draft board for very long on Day 2. Dare we say he...could've argued his case to the Chiefs at 32, then, if he were so inclined?

Outside of the Chiefs, the first round really didn't feature many teams that were in need of a running back. And those that are -- like the Redskins, Lions, Dolphins, Buccaneers, etc. -- wisely chose to address other glaring issues on their roster.

Either way, Swift is embracing being neglected.

Now that Hardman has let Swift know that he's thinking about him, maybe it'd be a good idea to shoutout Edwards-Helaire, his new teammate who figures to play a significant role in Andy Reid's offense as a rookie.
